Agency ups Russia’s 2020–2021 wheat export forecast to 39 mln tns
MOSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- Agricultural research agency SovEcon has raised its forecast for Russia’s exports of wheat in the current agricultural year that started on July 1 and will end on June 30, 2021 by 1.7 million tonnes to 38.9 million tonnes, the agency said in a report on Friday.
The forecast for barley exports was improved by 400,000 tonnes to 4.5 million tonnes, while the corn export forecast was reduced by 100,000 tonnes to 4.1 million tonnes. Total grain exports forecast for this season was upgraded by 2.5 million tonnes to 49.1 million tonnes.
The Agriculture Ministry expects Russia’s grain exports in the 2020–2021 agricultural year to amount to at 45 million tonnes, including 35 million tonnes of wheat.
